With power comes great responsibility The investiture ceremony was held at Boys' High School, Allahabad on the 2nd of September 2008 at Flynn Hall to officially recognize the representatives of the school. 41 students were selected from over 800 to fill the posts of prefects, captains, and the office bearers of various clubs.
The event started at 11 o'clock and quickly underwent onto the handing over of badges. While 10 students each of class 11th and 12th were chosen as prefects with 2 students from each section. The more coveted posts of captains and vice-captains were reserved for the class students. The students were selected after various screenings, which started with nomination by the teachers, and finally ended with the approval of the principal.
Boys' High School has had a long tradition of choosing the best amongst its students for the most esteemed post of college captain. This year this responsibility was put on the shoulders of Ian Parth. While the highly admired station of sports captain was given to Amarjeeet Singh. Akshay Pandey and Apoorva Gupta were chosen to promote cultural activities of the school as cultural captains. This year for the first time badges were also given for the science and commerce clubs. While Shubham Yadav was chosen as the president of the Science club, Devesh Singh became his counterpart in the commerce club. The event witnessed the principal Mr. C.V. Innes elaborating on the responsibility and accountability of being a badge holder. He also explained about the need of discipline in the development of character.
