—Anonymous "EFFERVESCENCE", the four-day inter-institutional meet, was held at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad, in the last week of October, 2006. The event was attended by students of various technical institutions of India, including the various IIT's, NIT's and other prestigious schools and colleges. Maintaining their track record of winning accolades for their excellence in talent contests, the BHS boys yet again proved their worth at “Effervescence.” A team, comprising Shikhar Bhatt, Pranjal Srivastava and Shubhanshu Mishra bagged the third prize in the event, “Magnum Opus” (software display contest) for their model, “A web-based device control system”, leaving behind various other engineering and school students in the competition. “You have done a wonderful job,” commented BHS Principal, Mr. C. V. Innes. A team, comprising Sachin Srivastava and Saurabh Tiwari, participated in the events “Segmentation Fault” (debugging contest) and “Confondere” (obfuscated programming contest). They were declared the best school team in the contests. The valedictory function was held on the 28th of October, 2006. Dr. M. D. Tiwari, Director, IIIT, gave away the prizes to the winners of various events, which ranged from La Footloose (dance competition) to IT-guru (personality and management competition).
