The Blue House, having scored the maximum points both in academics and sports, being the best House, emerged as the proud-winners of Cock House Trophy, at the annual prize day function held at the Holy Trinity School (HTS) an annexe of Boys’ High School (BHS) and College here. The Blue House also bagged the cricket and handball trophies. The jam-packed Dorinda Hall of the HTS reverberated with thunderous applause as the Blue House Captain and Vice Captain, Rajat Rai and Shubham Naik went on the stage to receive the trophies.

The Green House bagged the athletics and football trophies while the badminton and basketballs trophies went to the Yellow House and Red House respectively. In academics, nearly162 students from Class Nursery to Class 7 were awarded prizes. The prestigious `Aditya Joshi Trophy’ for English was bagged by Adnan Ahmad Siddiqui.

The chief guest on the occasion, Dr PV Jagan Mohan, Commissioner of Allahabad Division was accorded a warm welcome by Mr CV Innes, MLA and principal of the school.

Addressing the gathering, the commissioner, Dr PV Jagan Mohan greatly appreciated the efforts of the principal, Mr CV Innes and headmistress, Mrs D Innes in bringing up the school to the prestigious position which it presently enjoys and added that he wished that the government schools too function on the same lines and provide education to the children.

Emphasizing on the fact that the society should move ahead with the changing pace of times and should not have a myopic approach, he appealed that more schools and playground should come up to produce balanced citizens. He further stated that both schools and playground teach children to live together as communities. This itself will go a long way in ensuring the progress and development of a country.

Congratulating the prize-winners for carving out a niche for themselves by working hard to improve their academic excellence, he stated that today’s youth need to participate in three `Vs”---Vidya (education), Vyayam (physical exercise) and Vaadya Yantra (musical instrument) for the all round development of their personality.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr CV Innes, MLA and principal of the school said that education is the key to resolve the paradox of life and praised the teachers of the school for their commitment to educate the young minds. He further stated that in spite of all the obstacles, we continue to provide quality education to the children of our school.

The function came to an end with the vote of thanks from Mrs D Innes, Headmistress of HTS. In her brief speech, she congratulated the prize-winners and their parents and expressed her deep appreciation for all, including the teaching staff, for doing so much to keep the flag of HTS flying high.
