Mr CV Innes, principal of the Boys' High School (BHS) and College and Christian MLA of the Anglo-Indian Community in the UP Vidhan Sabha called upon the students to use their freedom with restraint and in a positive manner. This would go a long in ensuring the progress and development of the country. Mr Innes was speaking at the 62nd Independence Day function held at the school premises on Friday. He asked the students not to be misguided by caste and religious considerations and inflict pain and sufferings on their fellow-beings on petty issues. They must realise that are basically Indians and being an Indian, it is their duty to be united and protect the freedom and interests of others.
He further asked the students not to let the negative energies overcome them and bring harm to others. Instead they should listen to the voice of their conscience and act positively and use their freedom to serve the humanity. He also asked the teachers to be committed towards their pupils as it would bring about sea-change in their lives.
The function started with unfurling of the national flag by the principal, Mr CV Innes. This was followed by a speech in English by Akshay Pandey and speech in Hindi by Shaukat Ali, both of class XII C. The school choir of BHS and Holy Trinity School (HTS) rendered special songs on this auspicious occasion. |
