Happy Republic Day
The 63rd Republic Day was celebrated at the Boys’ High School (BHS) and College with great fanfare and gaiety. The entire school was beautifully decorated with tricolour flags. Mr V. S. Datta, Resident Editor, Northern India Patrika was the chief guest on this occasion.
The function started with the unfurling of the National Flag followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Lord’s prayer by Adarsh Das. Speeches were delivered in English and Hindi by Shubham Shukla and Ayush Bhardwaj respectively. Subroto Roy of class 2 narrated a speech of Indira Gandhi delivered by her before her assassination.
The speakers namely, Shubham Shukla and Ayush Bhardwaj highlighted the progress made by the country and appealed for a concerted effort to make out nation reach out of even higher echelons of glory.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Mr VS Datta who is a renowned journalist emphasized the importance of punctuality amongst the youth and asked the students to appreciate the importance of time as it would keep them in good stead in their future endeavours.
He congratulated the Principal, teachers and students for putting up a wonderful show befitting the occasion. He also praised them for doing yeomen service in the field of education and for churning out responsible citizens and hoped that the legacy would continue in future also.
Earlier, the Principal, Mr D. A. Luke, welcome the guests and Mr. L. A. M. French, incharge, College Section conducted the show.
For the first time in the past 25 years, an impressive Republic Day celebrations held at the Holy Trinity School (HTS) an annexe of BHS. The Principal of BHS, Mr. D. A. Luke unfurled the national flag praised the students for putting up a wonderful show.
In her brief address, the Headmistress of HTS, Mrs R Mandal dwelt at length on the twin attributes of success, that is, discipline and punctuality and urged the students to inculcate this habit and it would open the road to success in all their endeavours. |
