The newly chosen team of office-bearers of the Boys’ High School (BHS) and College for the academic session 2011-12 were sworn in at a colourful investiture ceremony held in the Flynn Hall here on Thursday.
At the outset, the Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke welcomed the Chief Guest, Rt. Rev Morris Edgar Dan, Bishop of Lucknow, Church of North India (CNI) and Chairman of the Allahabad High School Society (AHSS).
The ceremony started with a short prayer by Mr. J. Lawrence followed with an inspirational prayer of St. Francis of Assisi by Mrs Cristabel Luke and Bible reading by Mr E. S. Egbert. Thereafter, the chief guest handed over the badges to the new college captain, sports captain, house captains, vice-captains, house prefects, cultural prefects and NCC rank holders.
The College Captain, Shubham Shukla took the oath on behalf of the newly elected colour holders and pledged their solidarity in uplifting the honour and glory of their Alma Mater.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Rt Rev Morris Edgar Dan strongly emphasized the significance of moral character in achieving success in the years ahead. He exhorted the newly appointed office-bearers to set an example before others through their good conduct as it would help them to lead and inspire their fellow students.
The function was conducted by Mr. L. French, Head, College Section. The ceremony came to an end, with the benediction by the Bishop, Rt Rev Morris Edgar Dan.
