Blue House reigned supreme and lifted the coveted Boxing Championship trophy at the three-day Inter House Boxing Tournament of the Boys’ High School (BHS) and College held here. Vikas Sanoria of the Blue House emerged as the `Most Promising Boxer’ of the tournament.
Varun Singh of Red House and Abhimanyu Singh of Blue House were adjudged as the Best Boxers in the senior and junior categories respectively. Shivendra Singh of the Red House and Hamiz Omair of the Blue House were adjudged as the `Best Losers’ in the senior and junior categories respectively.
The three-day tournament witnessed some hard-hitting, keenly contested matches. The mettle and class displayed by the pugilists were commendable. In all, 65 pugilists took part 56 bouts in nine weight categories in the tournament.
The chief guest, Mr V Massey, Head of College Section of BHS distributed prizes to the winners. Addressing the gathering, he congratulated the winners and encouraged the losers not to be disheartened but to rise from their defeat through rigorous training and to imbibe the required skills of the sport in order to emerge victorious.
The results are follows: 26-29 kg: Vikas Sanoria (B); 30-32 kg: Shashwat Gopesh (G); 35-38: Abhimanyu Singh (B); 40-44 kg: Saif Ali Khan (B); 45-48 kg: Avneesh Tewari (B); 50-54 kg: Nasiruddin Aziz (B); 57-60 kg: Shivam Agarwal (B); 64-68 kg: Varun Singh (R); Above 68 kg: Danish Ahmad (R). |
