The founder’s day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by the students of Boys’ High School (BHS) and College and Girls High School (GHS) and College on Thursday morning. The students of BHS marched with school colours to the Girls’ High School to thank the founders and to express their gratitude for the above two temples of learning.

Dressed immaculately in school uniform, some 150 students of the BHS marched all the way to the Girls’ High School on the Elgin Road to offer thanksgiving to the founders of the great institutions. The Boys’ High School squad was lead by the Head boy, Samarth Singh Chauhan. It was a beautiful sight for the passerby and the on-lookers who appreciated the discipline of the students on the road.
The ceremony began with the colour holders handing over the flags to the chairman of the Allahabad High School Society, Rt Rev AR Stephen. This was followed by the opening prayer and  reading of passages from the Bible by the Principals of Boys’ High School and College and Girls’ High School and College, Mr. C. V. Innes and Mrs. P. Peter respectively. The atmosphere inside the GHS auditorium was solemn and deeply expressive of their gratitude to the to the Almighty for having blessed both BHS and GHS with the fulfillment of the mission to serve the society by imparting quality education and churning out responsible citizens of the country.
Addressing the gathering, the chairman, Rt Rev AR Stephen dwelt at length on the quality of wisdom and how the Almighty has bestowed it in abundance and it is up to us to inherit it and work for the betterment of the society. He further said that wisdom should not only signify itself in our actions but also in our reactions.
He stated that Thanksgiving is a very powerful and profound experience and one must be grateful to the Almighty for His blessings. He further stated that a school is a temple of learning and ask the students to be thankful to the school, teacher, parents and to the Almighty for their blessings which made their lives meaningful and successful. The most important thing in education is to grow and become responsible citizen of the country and serve mankind.
Speaking on this auspicious occasion, Mr CV Innes, MLA and principal of Boys’ High School and College regretted the fact that the Anglican schools were not being allowed to use the Anglican Church (All Saints’ Cathedral) on its Founder’s Day as the All Saints’ Cathedral has been taken over by the UCNI. He further stated that Thanksgiving is an occasion where place and time becomes irrelevant and appealed to everyone present in the hall to introspect and realize our calling in life to work for it in right earnest without any prejudices.
