Objects of Allahabad High Schools Society, Registered 1888 :

 

a)    To undertake the management of and to manage and continue the schools in Allahabad founded in the year 1861 and known as the Boys’ High School and the Girls’ High School and to establish or at in establishing if need should arise, new schools or colleges in Allahabad to provide education on a Christian basis, particularly for the people of Allahabad.

b)    To provide Christian education and opportunities for teaching witness and worship according to the faith, doctrine and practices of the Church of India, Pakistan, Burma and Ceylon, and more especially to the Christian staff and children (due provision being afforded by means of a conscience clause for the children of those parents who for any reason prefer that their children be not instructed in the distinctive doctrines of the Church of India, Pakistan, Burma and Ceylon).

c)     To provide hostel accommodations for teachers and children, and such others’ as are acceptable to the Society;

d)    To acquire build, rebuild, extend, or otherwise improve the building of existing schools;

e)     To maintain Christian teachers sufficient to preserve and strengthen the characters and purpose of its institution;

f)      To provide the care and education of orphans and indigent children;

g)    To undertake any form of work which is directed to the improvement increase and spread of education and which is for the benefit of the people of India, and, in particular, to encourage such forms of Social Service as may properly be undertaken by members of educational institutions;

h)    To provide for the physical, instruction of children, teachers and any others who may be acceptable to the Society;

i)      To provide for or to contribute to any Provident Fund, Pension Fund or other fund which may be established for the benefit of persons employed by the Society; and

j)       To do all such other lawful acts and things as are incidental to or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.

(j)  To make such byelaws as it deem fit and proper for the efficient working of the society and for the better carrying out of its object.
